Here is a Saturday Update from the land of bunnies.... :) If you look at bunny raising and judge it from the pictures on my website, even most of the photos on the internet, you might think it is all happy, easy looking fun. Well, there are always the ups and downs to everything, and lately I've been dealing with some of it. Since the beginning of August I've dealt with Coccida (bunny sneezing/flu/bowel discomfort) that required an expensive 10 day treatment, Aura Heamatoma's (similar to bubble in the ear), and now just yesterday, I dealt with a major Hemorrhage. Hard stuff. In short, Diana is no longer here, (long story, if you might be interested in it let me know and I can post it in the comments) and left 2 sweet little babies without a mother. I'm now busy fostering two adorable little black bunnies. So cute! Feeding one if the little babies. They are just a little larger than your thumb. : ) Peaches little Black babies. As far as I can tell right now, there are 3 boys and 2 girls. There is always a bit of Spice in the bunch. Little miss Cupcake has quite filled that title in full, over flowing her cupful of it. She still is the 7 year old's favorite, although I can't say I'm too partial to her. (Trouble on 4 legs.) Romeo on the other hand, is just adorable. I call my English Angora's my live Teddy Bears, they are just dolls! I love working with my bunnies. When I see the little ones like this, I just can't help falling more in love with what I do. There are the hard days, in life there always is, but the good outweighs the bad. I've always mentioned that this Stage of the babies is always the cutest and the funnest, but I just have to say it again and again, They are adorable! Happiness. Even when you lose your favorites, the best stock, the sweetest temperaments, you still keep trying, why? For this. The happy little faces all snuggled up next to their brothers and sisters, sleeping blissfully with full tummies. This. New life. Happy Smiles when the kids see the new bunny mommy or daddy got them. It makes everything worth it. In other News, My new Lisette is happily loving her new home. She is now bred and I'm excited to see her babies! (I always am!) Please check back next week for another fun update!

This is Lisette.
I've just got some really neat new breeding stock in, and I'm very excited to see how they "turn out" so to speak. I got a really nice blue buck that has already won a leg in TX and two really nice blue does. They carry Bergene bloodlines, and are very high quality. Now I know I keep mentioning Bergene and many of you may not be familiar with what/who that is. Bob Bergene is located in Gardner, KS, and raises Purebred Pedigreed Dutch rabbits. He is known as having some of the best Dutch stock in the Nation, and wins many BOV's, legs and other show champion honors on his stock. Often among Dutch breeders if you mention the name "Bergene" people are surprised and are very pleased with his stock. (sometimes it is quite funny!) Anyways, I just got 2 Dutch does and this Dutch buck, and they all Three carry strong lines from Bergene. Lisette, one of the does, is almost all Bergene's stock. Elise, the other blue doe, carries some of his lines, but not as much as Lisette. Meet Captain Horatio Hornblower. I know, odd name, but I like it! I'm all for names-out-of-the-ordinary for my rabbits, and since I've been doing some studying lately (more just for fun than as an assignment) on the Napoleonic Wars between Britain and France, I thought it a fun name to use for my new buck. I named this buck that, because not only did he win a leg like Hornblower earned a promotion, but he also is Blue, and the Navy is Blue. So, I thought it a fitting name. (I love History! :) ) Peaches had her babies! She had 8 blacks. I was hoping for some Tortoises, but sadly, she had all black. They are all cute though! Nothing more fun than more new babies! Soooooo CUTE! Tessa's adorable babies are getting bigger! They are about 4 weeks old now, and are super adorable. I love this age, it is my favorite stage of raising bunnies. And blues just happen to be my favorites too. :) 3 of these are already spoken for, 2 are available though!! Contact me, because you know you need one of these bundles of cuteness! The New hutch! My pretty English Angora Edelweiss likes her new hutch! I love it too. I've put rearranged my does this week, and they all like getting new places. It is super cute to see them sniffing all around! :) This new hutch has 6 holes, and is really nice. I'll have one for sale or to order soon! That is all for now folks! Thanks for stopping by!! :)
