This little girl is my other little protege. She is Black, daughter of Raven and Bruce Lee, and I think she is a keeper. Her body is so solid it amazes me, she feels "solid" when I pick her up, something not everybunny feels like. She has thick density, and her furnishings are coming in well for a baby her age. I think she is staying. I have a name for her. She is my Acadia. (pronounced long A a-ka-dee-uh). It is the French word for Nova Scotia, as well as the name of a beautiful National Park in Maine. I will probably end up nicknaming her Katy, or Katydid. But I just love the name, and have been saving it for awhile for just the right black doe. |
Other babies (Jinger's particularly) have already begun to and have found homes. It is kind of bittersweet seeing the sweet personalities go to new homes, but it is all for the best. It is so unique getting to know each bunny before letting it go on to its new owner(s). Even though you have to let them go, and that is sad, the joy is getting to know them for those first weeks. When you raise any kind of animal, and you commit yourself to pursuing excellence, you have to prepare for losses, tough decisions, and rough days (trust me, they happen). But in the mess, there are the small Joys and the big Joys... And in the end, I think many of us would all agree, it is so worth it. I look in my bunnies' faces, and I see the love, and the cuddles, just begging to be loved, and I just melt. Yep, I love my hobby. |
Have a great, hoppy week!
